New street food brand brings the carnival to consumers

A new brand, Carnival Kitchen, is bringing a street food inspired range to consumers this autumn, with a selection of tantalising flatbreads, pies and bites that are bursting with flavours from around the world.

The range, which is set to launch into selected UK Waitrose and Asda stores from 29 September and 18 October respectively, has been designed to provide shoppers with world street food adventures from across the globe featuring explosive flavours – from India to Thailand and Mexico to the East Coast, USA.

The products have been made specifically to be eaten hot or cold and are ideal when heated in a microwave or oven. They can be consumed  at home and on the go, making them perfect for snacking as well as a great light meal alternative.

Consumers can choose from a Philly Steak & Cheese Pie, made with pulled beef, peppers with a Monterey Jack and Philly cheese sauce, or a Tandoori Chicken Pie with succulent chicken, tomato, onion and coriander in a tandoori sauce – both wrapped in a turmeric flatbread-style dough. Also wrapped in the same tasty flatbread-style dough, is the Jerk Chicken Flatbread with spinach and smoked garlic, and the Red Thai Pork Flatbread with tomato and peppers in a Thai red curry sauce. The range also includes Piri Piri Chicken and Cheese & Jalapeño bites which are both encased in a crunchy coating and can be enjoyed as a snack or side dish.

Mike Holton, brand manager at Carnival Kitchen, said: “We’re incredibly excited to have launched a new street food inspired brand which features a full range of products inspired by world flavours and the Carnival Kitchen teams’ travels. They have been developed to bring a new tasting experience to consumers, while also fitting seamlessly into their busy lives.

“Our extensive market and customer research showed us that consumers are still looking for snacking experiences to deliver bigger and better taste adventures, while also featuring quality ingredients that have the flexibility to be enjoyed both hot and cold. This is why we created a range that provides big-hit flavours from around the world and really delivers on taste when heated.”

To celebrate the launch, consumers will get the chance to try the products first hand as the brand takes the carnival on tour across the UK – stopping at London, Birmingham and Manchester throughout October.

Mike added: “Commuters, families and students will all be able to get into the carnival spirit with the addition of a steel band and carnival dancers, to really bring the brand and its products to life. The events will be a great way to showcase what Carnival Kitchen has to offer. We can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts.”
