Landis+Gyr expands metering business with Finnish acquisition
Smart grid solutions company Landis+Gyr has acquired a Finland-based automated meter reading business from Telia as part of efforts by the company to expand its presence in the metering sector in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Telia currently provides metering services to some 23 utilities including meter readings for more than 950,000 residential smart meters, data collection services, and transfer of the measurement data. All these services will be integrated into Landis+Gyr’s advanced metering infrastructure portfolio. Landis+Gyr in partnership with Telia employees will continue to provide managed services to Finnish customers. These customers will also benefit from a wide range of security and data optimisation services provided by Landis+Gyr.

Landis+Gyr currently manages 15 million metering points worldwide and delivers 42 million meter values daily in the Nordics as a service to 40 utilities.
