According to RTEi in a release, Australia represents a particularly promising market due to its integration of renewable energy and the modernisation of its electrical infrastructure.
RTEi Australia Pacific will position itself as a local provider in the country, using its expertise in engineering, live working, and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) solutions, contributing to the development of Australia’s energy infrastructure.
RTEi has itself been present in Australia for over 10 years through a partnership with Powerlink , the Queensland Electricity Transmission System Operator (TSO).
RTE International’s teams provided expertise in the implementation of Live Working (LWW) – performing work on or near live electrical equipment or conductors – including technical assistance, specialised training, audits, as well as the supply of equipment and materials.
In parallel with the signing of a new partnership agreement in 2023 to strengthen collaboration with Powerlink, RTE International is also providing its expertise to EDF Australia.
The company contributes to the tender phases and the development of transmission projects launched by the governments of New South Wales and Victoria. These projects consist of developing, building and operating 500kV transmission infrastructure connecting new renewable capacity or strengthening interconnections between states.
RTEi currently has four other subsidiaries listed on their website.
These include: RTE international Inc., a US subsidiary created to support HVDC initiatives in the country; Redstork Solutions, a Serbian subsidiary providing TSOs and regional coordinators with advanced digital tools for network operation; RTE Nordics AB, a Sweden-based Scandinavian branch focused on customised solutions for managing renewable energy, power systems, and infrastructure digitalisation; and MAI Group, a Spanish Group part of RTE since February 2025.
