Italgas strengthens presence in Silicon Valley
Italgas has opened a ‘technological outpost’ at the Italian Innovation and Culture Hub (INNOV.IT) in San Francisco.
The aim of the outpost is to facilitate Italgas’s meeting with the Silicon Valley ecosystem, according to a company statement.
In addition, it is intended to position Italgas as a ‘point of reference’ for local startups interested in developing cutting edge solutions in the energy field.
“With this new unit dedicated to innovation and research in Silicon Valley we aim to benefit from proximity to the world’s leading hub for the generation of innovation and business opportunities,” commented Paolo Gallo, Chief Executive Officer of Italgas.

“Our direct presence will allow us to place ourselves as a starting point of reference for startups interested in developing specific solutions for our sectors of activity.”
The opening of the outpost builds on the ‘Innovation antenna’ that Italgas initiated at the Mind the Bridge Innovation Centre in San Francisco to tap the expertise of US startups in September 2022.
INNOV.IT is a recent initiative in San Francisco aimed to promote the Italian economic, scientific and cultural ecosystem in the US and to build partnerships between the two countries.
Italgas is the first Italian company to set up its own desk in the facility, which provides a range of services and opportunities not only for startups but companies of all sizes.
Sergio Strossi, Consul General of Italy in San Francisco, described the opening of the Italgas outpost at INNOV.IT as a “powerful stimulus” for the presence and activity of the Italian ecosystems within the innovations in Silicon Valley.
Italgas’s statement says the opening of the outpost “reconfirms Italgas as a pioneer in the global energy sector, able to exploit the opportunities offered by innovation and to lead the transition towards a sustainable future”.
