Puratos places focus on innovation at iba 2023
Puratos is underlining its commitment to innovation by launching a new platform at iba’s 2023 flagship event in Germany.
The iba.START UP AREA is a new addition to the world-leading bakery and confectionery trade show, which will take place at Munich exhibition centre, from October 22-26.
Further inspiration for visitors and exhibitors alike will be found in three keynote presentations being delivered by Pierre Tossut, Sophie Blum and Karl Smedt as they inform and engage on the topics of Puratos’s Mission to Mars, the Taste Tomorrow research program and the baking industry’s hottest subject, sourdough.
In a dedicated space in Hall A4, the next generation of entrepreneurs and enterprises will have the chance to share how their offerings can revolutionise the bakery, patisserie, or chocolate landscape by addressing specific challenges their industries face.
Sophie Blum noted that the partnership with iba reflects Puratos’s dedication to innovation and creating a platform for promising startups to showcase and progress their solutions.
“By supporting these young organisations, we are not only interested in their success, but also in the long-term sustainability of our industry,” Blum said.
The iba.START UP AREA has been designed to act as a hub for knowledge and inspiration. Renowned industry experts will join the line-up, leading discussions on topics important to the industry, from food trends, craftsmanship and health to sustainability, digitisation and quality assurance.
“We want to offer a memorable experience for everyone looking to shape the future of our industry. In the iba.START UP AREA, visitors will find ground-breaking ideas and technologies that will drive the way we make and consume bakery, patisserie and chocolate products. We want everyone at the event to join the conversation and drive positive change,” added Sophie Blum.
International and national start-ups from the food sector are invited to participate in the event. In order to exhibit, businesses must meet certain criteria. The company needs to be less than 10 years old (founded in 2013 or later), employ a maximum of 50 people and have an annual turnover of under 10 million euros.
Two packages are available to participants – Basic or Prime. Companies headquartered or operating in Germany can apply for financial assistance with exhibition costs through the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).
