Vadasz launches new Pineapple and Turmeric Sauerkraut
Vadasz, the UK’s leading chilled pickles and ferments brand, is expanding its range with the launch of its Pineapple and Turmeric Sauerkraut, a sweet and tangy twist on the fermented superfood.
With interest continuing to grow amongst consumers for fermented food and drinks (source: Spoonshot, 2022), the Pineapple and Turmeric Sauerkraut has been launched to offer a new and exciting flavour of super-condiment that has never been seen before on supermarket shelves.
Vadasz Pineapple and Turmeric Sauerkraut will be available exclusively in Waitrose, 400g (RRP £4.75).
Made from a combination of pineapple, cabbage, cauliflower, turmeric, garlic and ginger, Vadasz’s Pineapple and Turmeric Sauerkraut uses a traditional fermentation process with unpasteurised ingredients to retain the brand’s famous crunch and fresh flavour.
Pioneered by chefs and high-end restaurants such as Noma in Copenhagen, fermentation has filtered down into home-cooking in recent years. Vadasz’s range, which includes kimchi, sauerkraut and pickles, has been designed to meet this increased consumer interest for funky, fermented flavours, (source: The Food People, 2022) while offering added functional gut benefits for health-conscious consumers.
Charlie Holland, head of marketing at Vadasz, which is part of The Compleat Food Group, said: “At Vadasz, we are all about creating tasty pickles and ferments that pack a punch of flavour. We’ve already seen success across retail and foodservice with our range of kimchi, pickles and sauerkraut, but we’re always looking for new ways we can bring that fermented flavour to new ingredient combinations.
“Pineapple and turmeric are both on trend superfood ingredients that consumers are increasingly seeking out, so we’re extremely excited to be offering this brand-new flavour profile in our Pineapple and Turmeric Sauerkraut. Whether it’s used to liven up healthy salads, pile into sandwiches or add an extra zing to poke bowls, our latest creation is sure to be an enticing addition to consumer’s fridge shelves.”
