US university decarbonises with Siemens smart tech
Morgan State University (MSU) has partnered with Siemens to improve infrastructure toward becoming a smart and connected campus.
The Baltimore-based university is joining hands with the technology company under a master service agreement alongside Maryland Clean Energy Centre to support the transformation.
Improvements currently underway include implementing a series of modernisation upgrades to the university’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), security, and fire and life safety systems with a focus on energy efficiency, resiliency and sustainability.
In announcing the improvements, David Wilson, Ed.D., president of Morgan State University, related the infrastructure improvements to MSU’s goal of supporting operational efficacy and increasing institutional capacity.

With a focus on helping institutions achieve their sustainability targets, Siemens Financial Services (SFS) – the financing arm of Siemens – is providing capital for the project.
