Integrated control programming platform improves time-to-market
Emerson announces PAC Machine Edition 10, an intuitive and flexible application programming platform that helps users find innovative ways to control equipment while improving the bottom line with both new and enhanced programming capabilities. PAC Machine Edition enables rapid application development with user-defined function blocks and user-defined types.
The new control software is a single toolchain to program, configure and maintain the entire PACSystems automation portfolio including programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, variable frequency drives, servos and edge devices.
Providing programmers with access to widely used IEC 61131 and C languages, and the superior integration of PROFINET I/O, PAC Machine Edition 10 delivers a modern, advanced development environment that helps close the loop between information and automation.
New features that increase flexibility and ease of use include:
• Further improved function block capabilities, increasing speed and easy replication of common objects
• Module type package data assemblies and export utility for integration with distributed control systems for applications in the life sciences and chemical industries
• New integrated development environment graphical components yielding better docking options and navigation in the programmer
• Enhanced integrated change management capability to further improve programming collaboration and version control
• Multiple licensing choices to meet various needs, including a new leased license option that allows for central management and leasing licenses to virtual machines.
Users can integrate PAC Machine Edition with PACEdge advanced edge computing software to run analytics in Linux that utilise machine learning and artificial intelligence for process optimissation.
