TechWorks appoints John Docherty, former SVP of Global Foundries, as Member of the Board

TechWorks, the UK’s industry association for deep tech connected communities, has announced it is appointing John Docherty, as a member of its Board. The appointment will take effect from today.

John brings a wealth of leadership, business and industry experience to the role having spent over 35 years in Semiconductor Manufacturing. He is former Senior Vice President of GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Inc. and former Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at Advanced Micro Device. John has also held senior positions at Agere Systems, Chartered Semiconductor and Motorola Semiconductor.

Commenting on the appointment, Sir Hossein Yassaie, Chairman of TechWorks, said:

John brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and a strong understanding of the entire semiconductor and technology supply chain, this is fundamental in any country where national interest and technology supremacy are of critical importance.
